Throughout my career as an interior designer and stylist, I’ve watched the same exchange unfold countless times. Someone admires a room, a chair, a necklace, or a bracelet and asks, “Where did you find it?”
Sometimes the answer comes easily. Other times, there’s a pause. I wonder if that pause is about more than withholding information.
Perhaps what we’re trying to protect is the feeling of discovering something that feels deeply personal.
